Atte Mustonen seventh at the final round of this year's British F3 championship Mustonen finishes sixth in the overall points standings Räikkönen Robertson Racing's (Double R) F3 driver Atte Mustonen scored a seventh place finish at the final round of this year's British F3 championship this weekend in Donington. Mustonen's chances of a good finish in the second leg of the two race meeting were scuppered when his team-mate drove into the back of him at the start. All the podium places in Sunday morning's race went to Carlin Motorsport drivers First home was Jaime Alguersuari, with Brendon Hartley second and Oliver Turvey.third. Mustonen finished seventh. Sunday afternoon's race, the very last of the season, turned into a nightmare for Mustonen. As the cars were leaving the grid Atte's team-mate drove into the back of Atte, robbing the Finnish driver of any chance of a good finish. Carlin's Jaime Alguersuari was once again victorious, with his team-mate Oliver Turvey second and JTR with Marshall Westland's Nick Tandy third. The 2008 British F3 championship was won by Carlin's Jaime Alguersuari with 251 points. His team-mate Oliver Turvey finished second on 234 points. Third place in the championship was taken by yet another Carlin driver, Brendon Hartley, with 209 points. Mustonen finished sixth in this year's British F3 championship with 139 points. |
